When you join Windboats, you become a member of a team producing yachts, the owners of which, believe have a build quality far superior to other marques in the world. Many owners, who come from all over the world, will in fact visit the yard to watch their craft in the building process, and they are always keen to comment on the high standard of craftsmanship, and the thousands of hours that go into producing their beautifully finished boat. Our world-wide reputation for excellence is well-deserved, and one which we constantly endeavor to maintain and improve.

Depending on your skills, experience and aspirations, you will begin your career at Windboats within any one of the departments you have seen and read about. There will be plentiful opportunity to master the skills in these areas before moving onto other departments and new challenges, if that is what you wish.
Where, how much and how quickly your skills and knowledge develop will depend on you and us. We expect hard work and commitment from you, and in return we will endeavor to accommodate your choices, in line with our business. Should you have ideas about your career path within Windboats, we will establish a plan whereby your progress can be monitored and discussed regularly. Procedures are in place for staff interviewing, appraisals, promotions and pay rewards for those whose quality of work and all round performance demand it.

We also operate a “trainee” scheme in association with local colleges and training companies for school leavers and young employees. This functions on a day release basis, and the appraisal is carried out primarily by college tutors. As far as possible, young trainees will learn on a “one to one” basis at Windboats to ensure continuity and quality in their training.
